Call for Proposals: Advancing far-UVC technology for pathogen suppression
Blueprint Biosecurity invites proposals to advance the development and implementation of far-UVC technology for airborne pathogen suppression. We seek innovative projects that either directly support our published far-UVC recommendations or propose alternative approaches that advance our far-UVC program goals.
We welcome proposals that:
- Implement specific recommendations from our far-UVC Blueprint
- Develop novel approaches to accelerate far-UVC deployment
- Address important technical, regulatory, or implementation barriers to far-UVC adoption
- Create pathways for real-world implementation
Proposal Requirements
Initial submissions should be no longer than two pages single spaced. If we are interested in evaluating the proposal further, we will reach out directly with additional questions.
Submissions should include:
1. Project overview and impact case
- Clear explanation of your proposed work and its objectives
- How your proposal advances Blueprint Biosecurity’s far-UVC recommendations or our broader mission to suppress airborne pathogens
- Expected outcomes and their significance
2. Budget and cost-effectiveness
- Minimum Viable Project (MVP): Lower-budget version with essential components
- Full Project: Higher-budget version with clear explanation of what additional funding enables
- Justification for cost-effectiveness of your approach
3. Team and expertise
- Detailed information about all personnel involved
- Specific roles and time commitments
- Why your team is uniquely positioned to execute this work
- Relevant experience and qualifications
4. Implementation timeline
- Clear milestones and deliverables
- Realistic timeline with key decision points
- Risk mitigation strategies
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Alignment with Blueprint Biosecurity’s mission and far-UVC program objectives
- Potential for real-world impact on pathogen suppression
- Cost-effectiveness and efficient use of resources
- Team capability and track record
- Feasibility of implementation
- Clarity of success metrics
